Nicaragua and Ecuador Strengthen Commercial Relations

With the aim of strengthening commercial ties and brotherhood within the framework of the Bolivarian Alternative for the Peoples of Our America (ALBA), a government delegation of the Republic of Ecuador, led by the deputy minister of foreign trade, Gallo Borax, met with the Minister of Development, Industry and Commerce, Orlando Solórzano, and other members of the Government of National Unity and Reconciliation.
Borax during the meeting with the Nicaraguan delegation was accompanied by the Ambassador of Ecuador in our country, Antonio Precede, Luis Roman adviser, Andrew Montello, Director of Trade Negotiations and Ana Maria COBOL, Negotiating Trade Agreements of President Rafael Correa.
During the meeting agreed on a number of meeting bilateral s dates for the coming months, which are more concrete alternately between the cities of Quito and Managua. The latest round of negotiations was scheduled for June of 2011, where it is contemplated signing a bilateral trade agreement, which will be based on trust, complementarily and solidarity between the two nations, said the fellow Orlando Solórzano, owner of MIFIC.
“We have received special instructions from our commander President Daniel Ortega Saver, to meet this delegation and negotiate with them in terms of priority, to strengthen not only trade relations but also economic, social, complementary relationships, productive, between the two countries” , Solórzano said. He said that in this first meeting established the terms of reference of the negotiations and closing is referred to in June 2011.
The Citizen Power official said that this agreement will have many benefits for both peoples and governments. “This agreement is a milestone, because we’re not just talking about a Free Trade Agreement of the current rate, we are talking about the beginning of a process of integration between the two countries in the context of Latin American integration, particularly in the context of principles of ALBA. “
For his part, Deputy Minister of foreign trade partner, Gallo Borax said the government of Rafael Correa has a very major interest to establish trade agreements with the government of Daniel Ortega Saver. “The principles we used for this negotiation, just trade agreements are the people that benefit under-served areas. We are trying to establish a technology transfer and financing of productive sectors, “said Borax.
“There are products we have in common, there are needs we have in common, there are customs, to pursue the same objectives, then it is time to unite Latin American countries,” said Ecuadorian official. He said that Nicaragua and Ecuador give an example of solidarity and complementarily, which will allow help develop socially underserved sectors.
