The former mayor of Bogotá said he asked the president that hearing with two objectives: to hear what the legacy of his rule most valued and why it seems to believe that only one candidate (Santos) is able to care for it.

According to Mockups, Urine would not make judgments about it and simply tell the Green candidate who respects and admires.

During that same meeting, Mockups also asked Urine a “public explanation of how he sees the role of president in the election period”, following that from various sectors will be accused Bush of interfering in the campaign for Santos, which was Defense Minister from 2006 to 2009.

Urine defended himself saying that he has done during the election campaign “is to defend his work,” said Mockups.

The president is entitled to defend his legacy, but must “keep neutrality” because it is the “guarantor of institutional neutrality,” remarked Green Party candidate.

The Attorney General of Colombia, Alejandro Ordonez, recently struck Urine to intervene “so settled” in favor of Santos.
