Why World Bank to support development through loans and equity investments to the private sector
The IFC-like entity that is part of the World Bank is supporting the dissemination of best practices in construction through loans and equity investments to the private sector. These lines span several areas. In connection with sustainable development focus on projects which aim to promote improvements in energy efficiency, such as construction tools such as LEED certified, and to achieve cleaner production processes.
In addition to a Cleaner Production Programmed, the IFC has designed the Fund Investment Climate (FIC), which includes the Clean Technology Fund (CTF) and Strategic Climate (FEC).
The Clean Technology Fund (CTF) supports investment in technologies that can transform markets to low growth in its carbon footprint.
The Strategic Climate Fund (ESF) is designed for individual programs that aim to address specific challenges of climate change. These programs are the Pilot Program for Climate Resilience, the Forest Investment Program and the Program for the Expansion of Renewable Energy.
FTL resources are available for transformation projects of sectors to achieve a lower carbon footprint (such as buildings, internationally recognized certified stamps), a greater transfer of proven technologies and initiatives to leverage public and private sectors.
